In an entertainment industry that feels like the wild, wild west, there is no reason an actor should feel like a tumbleweed drifting aimlessly on the lonely highway.

Too dramatic? How about this:
"Elena, you should be a manager."

Hmmm. Well, managing isn't in the cards for me as a working actor. I think, think, think (like Winnie the Pooh).

Not a manager, But what if ----
Ok, Let's start with things that have given me joy the past several months (besides becoming a mother-in-law to a wonderful young woman). Coaching and teaching actors is in my genetic make-up. Lately, several actors and educator friends have come to me for advice on navigating auditions or careers, refining materials, and building confidence. And, they're succeeding with bookings and callbacks. That’s when it dawned on me: Do what you love, Elena. Spend time working with actors. Provide a space for dedicated, personal support that complements what agents, casting directors, and educational programs are already doing. Moreover, there is a need to have a more intensive support path for emerging young artists.

So we (my husband, Kevin and I) created THE KENT COLLECTIVE Talent Development, including the Luminary Youth Track (LYT). One part individual sessions curated for adult and youth actors; one part boutiquey (I made that word up) place for young actors that delivers hands-on services for a select group of passionate and driven young actors in the South Central market.
Whether it's personal brand, stronger industry connections, or coaching, development should be curated to the individual; crafted around specific challenges, needs, goals, and potential.

How an Agency differs from a Development Team
What makes THE KENT COLLECTIVE unique?
-
Talent Agents (agencies) are primarily responsible for getting work for actors. They handle auditions, bookings, contract negotiations, and connect talent with casting opportunities. They're legally licensed to procure employment.

-
The Kent Collective focuses on developing and guiding talent. We are committed to helping actors build their skills, image, and career strategy so they’re ready for the opportunities agents bring. The goal is to have a more personal, long-term role in career development, but unlike agents, we do not secure work directly or submit you for work.

Agents book jobs. We help get you there by being the best version of yourself.
